In the beginning
Before Time moved upon its strange axis
The great Bards witnessed
The birth of creation.
They spoke the Word to the people
And thus it was
The people came to understand
Who they were.
With lyre and rune and voice
With drum and dance and poetry
Wove they a story-tapestry
of divine magic.
And their weaving breathed
The weft and woof exhaled
The gods whispered
And entered upon the wings of song.
THE MISSION
The guiding light of the Bardic Arts Revival movement is to re-discover the intersection of ancestral lore and wisdom transmission with high performance art.
Mythology is the stuff our bones are made of, and the understanding and knowing of it increases our inner power. The strength and wisdom of our ancestors and their gods enter the room as a true Bard tells the tale.
Casey Schissler, founder, dreams of a day when the binary torch of illumination reaches simultaneously into the past and future, such that the wisdom of the ancient Bards may light the torches of those as-yet asleep, the future Bards who are destined to tell the stories of their people in the modern day.
This innovative multidisciplinary exploration is a unique rebirth in the modern day, and seeks to both illuminate audiences and empower performing artists in the ancient ways of story, poetry, song, and dance.
